The apple tree is native of Asia, belongs to the family of Rosaceae and its trunk can reach eight meters high. Huge variety of this fruit exists, because, to date, there are about 2,000 varieties. Even if the apple is a fruit that ripens in late summer, thanks to imports from foreign countries, we can find it available at all times of the year.

About 85% of the weight of the fruit is made up of water, and from 9% to 12% is made up of sugars which, by their chemical characteristics, have no contraindications for diabetics. These vitamins are also very important, such as vitamin A, B1, B2, C and PP, organic acids, minerals and trace elements such as calcium, chlorine, iron, copper, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, phosphorus. The third is pectin which helps to lower cholesterol in the blood.

Perhaps not everyone knows that, contrary to what the theory that the fruit should be consumed between meals, you should eat an apple after lunch or dinner, as well as aiding digestion, the apple, thanks to the fibers and the acid content oxalic, helps whiten teeth.
